shoes and bags
Sep. 15th, 2009 12:37 amFound them! Here is a picture of the shoes I mentioned yesterday. So: why are these sexy? (Or not, if you don’t think they are?) Incidentally, I wore them yesterday including out to dinner and for some walking afterward, and they are so comfotable I’m tempted to get brown ones as well, to replace my dressy brown shoes that aren’t.
I have been spending too much money lately. Oh well. Now I may end up with two purses: I wanted a Jordana Paige satchel, preferably in blue, but I checked a whole bunch of the shops listed on their webpage and everyone either didn’t have them in stock or didn’t ship internationally. (I could have gotten one from Jimmy Bean, whose service I’ve found uniformly excellent, but they only have pink. And they informed me in a creditably prompt email that they won’t be getting any more colors in.) I posted on Ravelry but found no suggestions, except that someone is selling a used one (in red, my second-choice color). It’s at a reduced price but has a small hole from a cat bite in the handle.
So I gave up and ordered a Namaste Zuma instead, in nearly the same shade of deep blue (Peacock), because I’ve concluded that I can get better quality at a much cheaper price in a knitting bag than in something sold as a handbag. Here there are expensive designer bags and cheap bags, but I didn’t see much good quality for under a few hundred US – designer bags are big here. (Namaste and Jordana Paige bags are both well under $100 US, so even with shipping I save money.)
And then Jordana Paige herself piped up on Ravelry and offered to find me a store! So I guess I will be getting two bags. I’m sure I can find a use for a red satchel – after all, it goes with the shoes.
