need packing advice
Jun. 13th, 2007 08:27 amOK, all you there in the USA, I'm coming home for a visit and I need to know what to bring (besides chocolate for presents). Starting next Sunday, I will be visiting Wilton, CT; Grants Pass, OR (in the southwestern part of the state); Sacramento, CA;, and Philadelphia, PA. To complicate things, I need to pack as lightly as possible, to leave room for shopping.
The questions are: do I need a jacket or will a cardigan (wool but lightweight) and an umbrella suffice? Wilton is for work so I know what to wear there, but otherwise, will shorts do or do I need long pants? I can sort of fudge the issue with skirts and capris, but Rudder can't.
I think I won't bring more than one pair of jeans (plus the ones I wear on the plane) and maybe not even that. I can bring sort-of-khakis-but-darker-colored pants for one of my work days that can dress up or down. I have to bring a dress for two parties; I could bring one that I can wear to work with a jacket, but it's not the one I'd like to wear. (And the one I'd like to wear packs small and doesn't wrinkle.)
I'm coming from a climate where you wouldn't want to be caught without something warm to wear because the weather changes a lot, so it's hard to feel confident in packing only shorts. Advice appreciated!
