cheering up already
Mar. 1st, 2013 09:59 amBecause I just came across the following, during a brief break.
The Children of the Lamp is a fun and often silly kids’ fantasy series by PB Kerr. I knew there was a reason I kept reading it. Quoted for truth, from somewhere in the middle of the fifth book, The Fakirs of Fazabad:
“The meaning of life,” said Mr. Burton. “I asked him what it was.”
“And what did he say?”
“He said that there is no one meaning that suits everyone. He said that there are as many answers to that question as there are people in the world, because it’s a different answer for everyone. But that once you recognize that fact, then all questions are answered.”
Also, I am reminding myself, after this weekend and in the next week or two, we plan to adopt a cat or kitten. Or maybe two – I want either one cat that prefers to be alone or an already-bonded pair. One of the local pet-fostering groups brings a bunch of its animals to a local pet store on Saturdays; we’ll be gone this week but I want to go next week. Another one has an adoption event at the other local pet store on March 9-10 (in time for my birthday!). And I need to check back at the nearest shelter, too.
