Listen, my children and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere.
On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-five
Apparently few are now alive
Who have studied that famous day and year.

How lucky we were, in those early days,
That our founding fathers (and mothers too)
Thought a well-stocked mind was no disgrace
And learned the lessons of history through -
Then applied them in rebellious debate.
No blacks and whites but shades of grays
Colored their thoughts and determined our fate.

If you would dishonor those learned men
Keep on reducing their history to mush
Ensure those who dare to correct you are hushed
Reduce famous legends to trash-talking then
Insisting that those who oppose you are wrong
Hold firm to opinion – who cares about fact?
Soon your adoring, idolatrous throng
Will make sure WIkipedia’s history is hacked.

Well done. I nearly spit out my coffee when I read the newsbit in question this morning.
