I’ve always liked anthogies of authors’ essays about books, their own or others, and My First Book is a good one.

But wow, Marie Corelli was a bitch. I think I’d have liked Rider Haggard, though.

(Also, Ruth Golding is an excellent reader. I will look for more of hers.)
