here I go

TIme has shut up on me like a telescope, and now I feel like I’m plunging into an ocean. I survived the Rondje Eindhoven row last Sunday, obviously. Today is my last workday before vacation. Tonight I have my last Dutch class – not before vacation but ever (unless we take additional classes as part of Ted’s contract). I will miss my teacher, who is excellent. I wanted to take her something but didn’t think of it in time to do any shopping, so I’ll take one of those little tassel thingies from Taiwan, with jade beads. Fortunately I got a bunch before I left for exactly this sort of thing.

Tomorrow I go pick up my mom from the airport, and tomorrow night if she’s up for it we’ll go to a local English-language quiz night that’s beginning. Friday we’ll have dinner with a friend of mine. Saturday we go by train to London, Wednesday we return, Thursday I get the key to the new flat, Friday the movers come, Monday Mom leaves, Tuesday I’m back to work, that Sunday I’m off to Taiwan.

I write this down at least partly for my own refernce, of course. But don’t be surprised if updates here are a bit thin on the ground here for a couple of weeks!
