just yarning
Aug. 14th, 2007 04:12 pmFirst: I got my Ravelry invitation over the weekend. I'm dichroic over there, too. I haven't figured out what's so wonderful about Ravelry yet, though it does seem lie an easier way to log projects.
I can't find any mention of a stitch'n'bitch group in Taipei, but I did find some indication that there are yarn stores there. Still, I think I'm going to assume that this move provides a valid excuse for stash-building - sock yarn at least. (Umm, Maria? if we just happened to casually choose streets with yarn stores on them to walk down in Copenhagen, that wouldn't be bad thing, you know what I'm saying? ;-) Oh, yeah - and I finally booked a hotel there. I need to email you.) On the other hand, Rudder's there now and has seen rowers out on the water at least twice, so that's good.
Speaking of Taiwan, I attempted, unsatisfactorily, to do some undergarment shopping last Saturday - I think that's a task that would have been better put off to Taipei. I suspect my size is much easier to find there - the Dutch tend to be bigger-framed than I am. (I do mean -framed; the band size is the problem.)
And I'm continuing to be a bit torn, because I really like having all my own stuff on my own site, but I do miss the conversations you can have on LJ, which is why I sometimes stick frivolous stuff or stuff I really want feedback on (this post would be in the former category) here instead.
