Sleepy bunny, for a coworker’s baby due somewhere around New Year’s:

ETA: I forgot to write about the bunny pattern, and I really should, because the construction is very cool and the pattern is free. I first knit this years ago, when I was just a beginner, and it is a great way to practice finishing techniques with something small enough not to get boring – because the whole bunny is made from a 6″ square. (This one is a hair bigger.) All the shaping is in the seaming; only the ears are knitted separately – the head and legs are just stitched. See the pattern link for explanation.
