WTF?

Something very odd is going on. I’ve just been adding a whole bunch of Kindle books to my book catalog (I am very good about cataloging physical books before I read them, but I was eight months behind on the e-books! Oops) when I noticed that I have at least two e-books, that I bought from Amazon, that don’t seem to be sold there anymore. One is Sharon Kay Penman’s The Sunne in Splendor; te other is Jared Diamond’s Why is Sex Fun? The Evolution of Human Sexuality.

Presumably Penman’s book is gone because it’s gone out of print; they’re not selling new hardbacks or paperbacks any more either. Though that’s still stupid; the whole allure of e-books is being able to keep books in ‘print’ without having to stock them.

But that’s not true of Diamond’s book, which is still available in paperback. There’s a “I’d like to read this book on Kindle” request button and everything. Very strange.
